What's a good vacuum cleaner for someone with long hair?

My hair is always getting caught in the spinning brush thingie of my vacuum cleaner. It drives me nuts because I keep having to stop and get in their with scissors to deal with the tangles of matted hair and carpet lint. Please tell me there's a better kind out there?What's a good vacuum cleaner for someone with long hair?
look for a vacuum that has the option of turning the beater bar off. For example Panasonic vacuums.

best sloution is to bush your hair in same place every time and brush it a lot and collect the hair...long hair also bad for drain in shower and bath tub... good luck
My long hair sheds a lot, and I use a broom. A good broom is cheap, burns calories, and works as well as a vacuum. Also, it uses no electricity and never gets blocked or tangled up with hair.
Dyson is the best, but be prepared to spend over $500 for a new one.
I REALLY WANT TO RECOMMEND DYSON WHICH IS ABOUT 500 DOLLARS OR RAINBOW WHICH COSTS 3000 DOLLARS BUT IF YOU CANT AFFORD THIS WHY DONT YOU JUST USE A HAIRNET OR CUT YOUR HAIR OFF!
I had long hair most of my life. That's the downside is the vacuum cleaner issue. I have never found a way out of cutting the hair out of the beater bar. The best I can tell you is I just bought a Dyson and it ROCKS. The beater bar is easily accessible for removing hair wrapped up in it. They are pricey but it is by far the best one I have ever owned or used.
