Try unflavored gelatin that you can buy in the grocery stores. Mix a tablespoon or two of it in a cup of tea and drink twice a day. Also, just FYI, birth control pill hormones also increases the rate at which hair grows. Your mention of scuba diving may be a clue, because oxygenation plays a big factor, too, as with lots of scuba diving and smoking. Check the hair on your lower legs. Heavy smokers don't have any hair growth at all there. Drop by the ER sometime where you live and ask a nurse to do a quick pulse oximeter reading on you (that little clip thingy that goes on a finger for a minute and reads how much oxygen saturation your blood has. It should be above 95% for optimal hair growth. Oh, and get your thyroid functioning checked out, too. Even a slightly low function can reduce hair growth. Eat more protein. Wear an old granny bonnet on your hair at night. Don't wear a hat all day. And, eat more leafy veggies.Long hair?

I have very long hair [42inches] and get it cut twice a year.Usually about 3 inches each time.I found a shampoo that really works to help your hair not only grow faster, but makes it look thicker too.
It is called ';Mane Tame'; and you can get it at Wal-Marts.It is found [now don't laugh] in the pet care section.White bottle with a black horse on it.
I'm not kidding,it works.Only thing, you must get the one with the built in conditioner or your hair will be dry.
I was told this by my own beautician.See, even though my hair is long,it is very thin. This is why I started using it.To make it look thicker.Turns out it helps your hair grow faster too..
please do give it a try and let us know how it does..
hmmm....I have very long hair but I don't have problems making it grow because it grows astonishingly fast. I swim, but not much in chlorine. Lets see.....what about those swimming caps? Could you wear one of them? I know you might feel dorky in them but if it helps your hair I would give it a chance. You can buy special shampoos for hair that is exposed to chlorine often. I would suggest going to your local drugstore or beauty shop and ask.
Besides that, just do your best to keep it healthy. Brush it at least twice a day (which distributes natural oils) with a soft bristle brush. Always make sure to condition your hair after you wash it, and even do a deep condition every now and then. Also, mayo really does help....I've put that in my hair and let it set for 15 minutes and then wash it out with dish soap. Afterward my hair is so smooth and shiny....it'll keep your hair healthy.
Another thing you might want to look into are vitamins. I'm not for sure the exact kind but I know there are some to help keep your hair, skin, and nails healthy. Research it if you want.
Good luck!
I think you shouldn't have to stay out of clorine, just you might want to wait a little longer to see if it will grow. But then if it doesn't start growing, you should mabey stay out of clorine for a couple weeks or months! Good luck!!!
one thing i no...if you trim your hair every once in a while it actually makes your ends healthlier and it grows faster...otherwise i dont really no
I get mine trimmed every 4 months or so and I take a vitamin for hair/skin/nails that you can find at health food stores. Mine seems to grow really fast.
trim is like a quarter of an inch, for some reason, when you trim your hair, it kick starts the growing process.
just ignore the length of your hair for a while, and use a keratin enriched moisturizing conditioner to keep your hair strong and moist, preventing breakage is the key to getting longer hair.
hrmmm i think if y9ou also have your hair tied back .. it can help ... i always have my hair tied back kinda tight in to a ponytail or bun ... and to tell you the truth my hairs grows pretty fast
When your in the pool you need to protect you hair from breaking apply a leave in conditioner before you go in the water. it will coat it and protect it from the chlorine. also try using infusium shampoo and conditioner its awesome and help repair or at least prevent breakage. Don't straiten your hair because it causes damage. just put some mouse or anti frizz stuff in it so it looks smooth. the less damage you cause your hair the easier it will be to go it out. Try to make all you hair wavy by scrunching it with the mouse or gel.
My best hair advice is use Dove shampoos and conditioners...and theres this stuff called colerstoral...you get it at like a drug store or whatever...wash your hair and towel dry it, and apply the colestoral and let it set...(try blowdring it with a shower cap to trap heat) ..... for like 30 minutes and then rincing...like once a week.
Everyone I know asks how i keep my hair so healthy.... ive died it 4-5 times along with perms and nobody can tell..not even my stylest....I recomend trims also, itll make your hair look better, i doubt it will make it grow faster since hair growth is an inside your scalp prosses....
i would first start with a shampoo that will stripe out the chlorine. Then when you do get in the pool, first wet your hair and put a conditioner on, starting at the ends and working up the hair shaft. This will help keep your hair protected while in the water. Regular trimmings is a must if you want your hair to grow. Have your hairstylist cut off all the dead, split ends to get you started and every 6-8 weeks trim( 1/4 of an inch) it to keep the ends healthy and growing. Also a Multi-vitamin can do wonders for your hair and nails.
Keep it shouder length. It's HOT ;)
