What is a cute layered haircut for extremely long hair?

I'm getting my hair cut in a few days and I'm not quite sure what I want. My hair reaches just past my waist and is dyed jet black. I know I want some sort of layering with long bangs, and I don't want to take off too much length from the majority of it. With long bangs... scene is actually very cute, you could get some highlights in there too (like blondes or blues or other colors).... i think it would look great!
