Everyday spend about 5-10 minutes massaging your hair with your fingers. Move your fingers circularly all over the head starting from the temporal parts to the occipital area. Apply the necessary pressure to the areas. Even Yoga exercises such as the headstand are recommended for proper circulation to all the parts, especially the hair follicles to stimulate growth.
There are various types of massaging techniques, which can be followed. Indonesian style is best suited for relieving mental tension and improving the quality of the hair.

wash only every other day, take a prenatal pill every other day, use a shampoo for long hair, dont blowdry ur hair or put any heat on it without a heat protector.
Ah, im growing my hair long too! So im in the same boatt.
Conditioner is number one. it really makes all the difference. Try to use one that adds moisture or something along the lines. Herbal Essences has ';Long Term Relationship'; which is specifically designed for long hair.
Cut down on your heat styling as this causes damage and split ends.
Get regular cuts . i know it sounds weird when youre trying to grow your hair long. but the more regularly you get it cut, the less you'll need off in the long run.
Try protective serums. I swear by John Freida Frizzease. particularly usefull if you curl/ straighten/ blowdry your hair.
Dont OVERWASH your hair.
Try to limit the amount of times you dye your hair.
Deep conditioning treatments are also reccomended.
Get your hair trimmed every 4-8 weeks and use high quality products pruchased at a salon or a beauty supply store. Also prenatal vitamins help promote hair growth.
Try washing it every other day instead of everyday..this will help it keep it's shine, unless you use a lot of styling products. In which case, wash it every day. Use a shampoo that is made for your hair type. DON'T use Suave!! My stylist says it breaks your hair off. Use a moisturizing shampoo you can get from the salon.
Don't blowdry it too much. I've been airdrying my hair for two yrs now and you won't BELIEVE the difference. Oooh, and get it trimmed/cut every two mths or so. Because dead ends ride up the hair, making it appear shaggy.
