I mean, is it tolerated when seeking for a job?Is long hair on men accepted in the work area?
It depends on what type of job you are seeking. If you wish to dig ditches, or swing a sledge hammer all day, then your hair length won't matter. If you are applying to be a physician, or banker, business executive, etc., then you better be well groomed. Is long hair on men accepted in the work area?
Yes it is, but you must tie it back. At least, you should for the interview, and if you get the job I would ask if it's okay to have your hair down.
My boyfriend is an engineer who has had no problem getting jobs with a shoulder-length ponytail. While he was still studying, he used to work for a catering company and they didn't mind that he had long hair. Basically the same rules apply for men and women- keep your hair out of the way if there is machinery, keep it clean and keep it tidy so you look nice and neat.
I have friends who have long hair and have office jobs- where I live it's actually very common to see men in suits around town who have long hair.
Really, it depends on where you're applying. I hope to work in academia, and the head of BioSci here has really long hair and earrings. If working in a business environment, it could cause you further troubles, although a ponytail would definately make you look more professional. Really, I think your only absolute ';no's'; would come from the army, policing or conservative pastoring.
Sometimes, like when I was working at a movie theater they didn't want my hair am longer then neck length, and when I worked in a warehouse it was OK as long as I tied it back. But if you are going to be working with food, then maybe short is best. That is if you don't mind wearing a hair net.
depends where you're getting a job. some places (usually restaurants) have dress codes, whereas other places don't care.
i've seen people working at borders with long hair... try getting a job there. lol
Well I think it is better if it is shorter but, I like my hair better longer sometimes.
